Baby Shower Cake

I can not believe it has been so long since I have posted on this blog. Well, it's not because I have not had cakes to make. I have been busy as a bee, baking, creating and spending time with my 4 beautiful kids still left at home.

Here is my latest creation for a baby shower. So much fun!

Baby Block Cakes. Four separate cakes covered in hardened, royal icing "blocks".

Each "block" was made with royal icing, and made to look like a foam block.

Baby Monkey was the theme, but the Mother-to-be fell in love with the original, hand-drawn, and detailed Elephant.

Four flavors were Pineapple Millionaire with coconut and pecans, Peanut Butter Banana, Strawberries & Cream, and pictured above...Fresh Blueberry. Absolutely delicious with pound cake!

What's new at JMB?

So many things going on, not enough time to blog about them all! ha ha  But here are a few of the items that have been flying off the bakery truck at JMB.
TRIPLE SWEET SUMMER CAKE

PIE, PIE, and MORE PIE (pictured above: Millionaire Pie)

Pints or Quarts of fresh, homemade hotsauce! YUM!

JMB's famous Mesquite Bean Jelly. Get it while it lasts. This is a seasonal item only and goes fast!

Veggies are all gone, but my chickens are starting to crank out large, beautiful brown and white eggs!  Don't forget Holiday's are right around the corner!  Keep JMB in mind for all your baking needs! More soon, so check in often! Hope everyone had a great summer! :)

Milk Bone Cake

Got a dog lover in your family?  Who wouldn't want to try a Milk Bone? Funny, huh?!  This is a beautiful dog treat cake. Hand sculpted, textured and "painted". Chocolate cake with white cream filling, covered in a chocolate fondant that tastes just like a Tootsie Roll! Oh, yeah!  This cake serves hefty, dog-sized portions to over 35 people. It's a must have for your next puppy party! No bones about it! *smile*

Add some cute, candy Milk Bones for party treats!  Edible, Tootsie Roll-flavored, "baby" bones.  So CUTE! (for human consumption only!)

Lover's Cake

Wonderful cakes for that special someone and that extra-special occasion!  Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Bean or Ghiradelli Triple Chocolate cake with strawberry cream filling. Buttercream icing and white chocolate covered strawberry toppers. Each cake is custom ordered and made to your specifications. (In-season item)

Spongebob Squarepants Cake

Sponge Bob Birthday. 24 hour notice on limited budget! Pineapple house is over 18" tall, and all cake. Six layers of triple chocolate with buttercream icing. Figures are hand-sculpted of fondant. 5 1/2 " tall Squidward, with Spongebob & Patrick. This is what I can do with 24 hours notice. I was working hard and fast, let me tell ya! :) Feeds 25+  (Link to great party game to go with cake and/or themes)

50th Wedding Anniversary - Yellow Rose

Client had her own topper and requested that it be used on the cake.
She also brought in a photo of a cake that she wanted her cake to look similar to. She did not care to have the flowered duplicated from the topper, so we went with roses. The cake is a white cake with buttercream icing, fondant flowers, ribbons and leaves. Details are hand painted with gold dust, pearl dust and coloring. This particular cake would serve 15-20 people.

Graduation Cakes

A&M and Texas Tech, Divided "Flag", Sheet cake.
Single layer, yellow butter cake with buttercream icing. This cake is able to serve about 50-60 people, depending on the generosity of the slice.




Sculpted, Arizona Wildcats Logo. Single layer, Swiss chocolate cake with buttercream icing. This cake was cut out of a sheet cake, able to serve 30-40 people, depending on the generosity of the slice. 

Candy Bar Cake

Although I did not make this particular cake, I have made a similar "Candy Bar Cake".

Blue Dolphin Princess Cake

All edible, except for mermaid topper.
Molded, chocolate shells, Fondant dolphins, buttercream and fondant icing. This particular cake would serve approximately 30+ people.

Underwater Princess Cake

All completely edible! Except for Ariel (the mermaid) topper. And the LIVE fish in the round fishbowl. (Sorry, he didn't want his picture taken)

Fondant creatures, molded chocolate shells, jelly beans, sugar babies, coconut, fruit gushers, licorice, colored rice krispies, and fruit rollups,. Double-double layered, chocolate fudge filling.

This cake would serve 60+ people, depending on the generosity of the slice.

Flower Princess Doll Cake

Full sized, 12" Doll
Bottom of dress is a red velvet cake. Covered in fondant and buttercream icing. This cake will serve 8-10 people.
